Week in review.

Today I decided to get out the baby toys to prepare for when Abigail can hold toys. She is just now beginning to notice when you put toys in front of her face, she focuses on them and you can tell she wants it but can't quite get her coordination to grab it. Consequently, all of the other kids decided that they really liked the toys as well. I let them pull all the baby toys out and reminisce about them. Every time they would finish with a toy, they would so kindly give it to Abbie. Here is the result.

Ashley got these glasses at preschool. Anything Ashley brings home from school becomes the "sought after" toy. Katie finally got a turn. I don't think Ashley knew about this brief experience or else you would probably have seen her in the background being a great mom-in-training. Telling Katie that those glasses are hers and are not to be worn by another living soul!

Katie reading to Abigail of her own free will. A rare moment indeed.

The kids enjoy playing with play-doh on occasion. Here is Jacob's a.k.a. Batman's work of art. I did not know that he would be sticking it to the wall. He thought of that all in his own brain. He was VERY proud of his creation!

The kids enjoying a particularly beautiful sunrise.

A funny story....
After dinner one night this past week, we were all hanging out around the table. I looked over at Jacob and he was eating a booger. Unfortunately, our kids apparently had a secret meeting one day and taught each other how to feast. They all do it and it's very gross and slightly disturbing. Anyway, so I saw him eating a booger. I said to him, "Boy I bet that booger tasted delicious." He got a sheepish look on his face and told me emphatically that it did not taste good. I asked him, "then why are you eating it if it doesn't taste good?" He said even more emphatically, "I'm tryin' to quit!!" As if it's an addiction! Come on dude.

It took Tally awhile to learn how to use those hands (actually, she's still working on it) but it never seemed to keep the other kids from layering her with toys. I'm thinking that the babies with older siblings just get used to all of the "sharing" and attention. They are also more tolerant to toddler body slamming and head sitting.....or so I've heard, and I wouldn't really know because what kind of parent would let their toddler sit on their baby's head....ummmmmm.....

The sunglasses picture is my favorite. And I felt for your most likely sleep deprived state while viewing the sunrise picture.

OH my goodness! I have that problem with the boogers too and she says the same thing! Yuck! I thought the sunglasses was sooooo sadly typical! I think we really know how that feels being the youngest sisters right? Your kids are hilarious! The play dough on the wall was very creative:)

It's funny, in the picture of Abbie with all the toys on her she looks miserable! Will somebody please come get these off of me??

I really think it's cute how Katie came to read to Abbie. She is sure thinking of her little sister and trying so hard to be loving! I'm sure they will become good little friends.

I love this post! Baby with a pile of toys, compliments older siblings, sisters taking a stand over sunglasses, playdough on the wall, and (my favorite) the booger story. . . kids are just a hoot!

I am so glad that you are getting some peace on Sunday. Sunday used to be the hardest day of the week...it is slowly getting better.

At least he said that boogers were gross...mine would say "it's good you should try some".
