First off, Jacob turned 8. So weird. I cannot believe we have an 8 year old. All summer, he desperately wanted a skateboard. It was hard to hold out but... we did. He got a skateboard, a Lego set and a helmet. I thought it would be great if we wrapped his helmet and hid his skateboard. It was worth the little bit of turmoil that was accompanied with my little tease. He was SO excited! I think it's pretty apparent on his face, don't you?
About a week or so after his birthday, he was able to get baptized. It was a wonderful day. The baptism went well, other than the water being "freezing". The luncheon went well (with way, way too much meat left over but hey... easy freezer meals.) The rest of the afternoon was laid back, relaxing and completely enjoyable.
Abbie is now two. She is at such a fun time in her life. She is learning new things almost daily and loves to show us the things she has learned. She talks a ton and is a bundle of energy. She loves to sing the alligator song and she loves to spend time with her brother and sisters. Seriously, she follows them around the house all day.
She got a My Own Leaptop for her birthday. It's such a cute toy. You can hook it up to your computer and personalize it with their name, songs they like and emails from their siblings. She enjoys it and plays with it often. As you can see, the others do too. In fact, the very next morning, I was privileged to break up several fights over that very toy. Who knew.
Happy Birthday Jacob and Abbie. We love you both to bits!
