CHRISTMAS!!!

So we decorated the house in Christmas attire the day after Thanksgiving. Tradition my friends, tradition. As soon as the decorations came in the house, the kids gathered 'round the boxes and as I opened them, it was like kids in a candy store! Holy moly!!! I finally had to set some ground rules. When the stocking box was opened, Katie pulled the stockings out and said excitedly, "My sockies!" Then she put them on. She walked around the house for a while like this.

I put the tree together, just like I do every year. I plugged in the first tier and all the lights worked. I got the second tier on, plugged the lights in and half of them worked. I figured there was a burned out bulb somewhere so I began the tedious task of finding that darn light. I couldn't find it ANYWHERE! I decided that I would find where the strand stopped working and then go from there. Guess what I found at the end of the strand? A plug that was not connected to anything. That strand was unplugged!! After all that looking it was just a matter of plugging the lights in? I'm a dork!

The kids actually weren't that interested in the tree so I started decorating it. I got about half of the little snowmen on before they decided that they wanted to do it too. They finished decorating most of the tree and did a pretty good job with spacing after a few reminders.

All in all, we had a fun time. Dad's job was to put up the outside decorations, a.k.a the lights. Our house is now all ready for Christmas. The kids all had a fun time working together to make our house festive.

What fun! I'm glad you all enjoyed decorating together. I'd like to put lights up on the front of our house this year but I'm not sure if we'll end up getting it done or not. I have my tree up and some decor but I still have more to do.

Those are very cute pictures. I'm glad you let the kids help decorate. It's not easy. They get so excited and want to help with everything no matter how it looks or what ends up on the floor. My favorite pic is the one with all three kids - adorable!

Those are cute pictures! The one with Katie is funny. I'm surprised you let her wear them around the house. My first reaction would have been to tell her to take them off. :) Christmas decorating is so much fun. I'm glad your kids were able to take part in it. They will remember that you let them help!
