Ashley is 4!!!

I have been a little slow at getting these pics on my blog. Ashley's b-day was actually April 26th but as you're looking at the pictures, just try to imagine the excitement and wonder of the day!

Ashley has been SO excited for her birthday. Every morning for the past week, she has been asking how many times she has to wake up and go to sleep for her birthday to get here. So the day arrived. This is the "discover the presents" picture that were strategically placed on the counter the night before as I slopped myself into bed 5 minutes later. And no, the bananas are not a gift. They just happened to make it into the picture.

These are the contents of the above gifts. As you can see from Ashley's face, she's real good at staging beautiful and realistic smiles.

I just had to put this picture on! We thought it was pretty funny. It was Jacob's attempt at helping Ashley get her earrings on correctly. Nice try Jacob!

Here is the crowning surprise for Ashley. The bummer was, she did not give us a very fun reaction to her new girly bike. We told her she was going on a bike ride with dad. We assumed she would be excited when she saw the new bike instead of her old, teeny, beat-up one. I went out first so I could capture the excitement in pictures. Ashley walked right out to get on her bike and just picked up the new one like it was old news! So much for excitement. It was fun anyway!

I am very proud of Ashley that she can ride without training wheels. It's so cute to see this teeny kid riding like a grown up. Keep up the good work Ashley! We love you.
